Holiday Helping Hands is a Christmas, gift assistance program for families in-need on the Enumclaw plateau. The “Giving Day” event, at the Enumclaw Expo Center, invites pre-registered families to pick-up their gifts. Each child in the family (ages 0-18 years) will receive a gift, a book or craft and 2 stocking stuffers. Gifts are preselected by Holiday Helping Hands’ volunteers. Families are offered a gift card to a local grocery store along with local (assistance) resources such as Plateau Outreach Ministries, The Enumclaw Clothing Bank and Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation.
***If you know a family that would benefit from our program and they reside within the Enumclaw School District’s boundaries, please connect them to our website and/or our contact info. THANK YOU!
PLEASE READ: A change to the program…Holiday Helping Hands will be preselecting gifts for all enrolled children. Registered families will be invited to the “Giving Day” event to pick-up their preselected gifts.
About… (Click heading to read more.)
Holiday Helping Hands is a Christmas, gift assistance program for families in-need that live within the Enumclaw School District boundaries. It has been an active, holiday toy drive in Enumclaw since the 1970’s, formerly ran by the Retired Teacher’s Union and then Karen Worthington. It was known as “Enumclaw Toys for Tots and Teens” until 2020 when it was renamed Holiday Helping Hands. The program has changed and grown over the years but the heart of it has been carried on.
Each Christmas season, we collect new toys, gifts and gift cards from the community. We team up with local businesses, along with the fire & police departments, as donation drop-off sites. There are many Toy & Food Drive events scheduled and hosted by local clubs, teams and participating businesses. (See ”EVENTS” for more info). This year all donated food will go to Plateau Outreach Ministries for distribution in the Enumclaw community. We are still collecting local, grocery gift card donations and will distribute them to registered families.
Enumclaw Fire and Fugate Ford host Enumclaw’s infamous Santa Run, where Santa and the fire trucks tour Enumclaw, spreading Christmas cheer and accepting toy & food donations from the community. (This year’s Santa Run is December 4th-8th. Please follow Enumclaw Fire Department on Facebook for the up-to-date info on the event!)
Families who are in-need and have their student(s) enrolled in the Enumclaw School District’s “free or reduced lunch program” will automatically receive a letter in the mail just after Thanksgiving, inviting them to sign-up through our website’s online registration. For Enumclaw families with children under school age or Enumclaw families that homeschool, we welcome all in-need families to register for Holiday Helping Hands on our website.
If you know a family with children, aged 0-18 years, that could benefit from our program and they reside within the Enumclaw School District’s boundaries, please connect them to our website and/or our contact info. THANK YOU!
